Lead Environment Artist

We’re looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join our team in Porto, Portugal.

This person will be helping our Art Director guide the Environment Art team in our current project, Road Kings, as well as all future projects for Saber Porto.

• Lead a team of internal and external Environment artists.
• Collaborate with the Art Director, game designers, engineers, and producers to balance creative vision with production realities and ensure artistic goals are met within technical performance targets.
• Sculpt/model UV & texture meshes in a PBR pipeline.
• Verify the quality of objects in the game and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction.
• Be an active mentor and role model for the art team. Work to maintain morale and create an atmosphere of creativity and enthusiasm.
• Be directly responsible for delivering art assets with top notch quality from team.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as producer or project manager.
• Experience in Autodesk 3D Studio Max (modeling and texturing tools).
• Senior games industry experience with industry 3D packages.
• Experience working on published AAA games.
• Expert knowledge of Maya, 3DSMax, ZBrush and Substance Painter.
• Excellent knowledge of Art production on AAA games (PBR, Shader and optimization).
• Strong portfolio showing 3D art and composition skills, demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity.
• Showing pro-activity and interacting with other colleges and departments to solve problems and improve workflow/pipelines.
• Expert knowledge of 3D pipelines and asset management.
• Familiarity with game development cycle and engines.
• Great understanding of architecture and urbanism.
• Good organization and time management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Graphic Design or Art
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5
